Fungicides

Fungicides include both organic and inorganic compounds with the capacity to control pathogenic fungi. Some are absorbed by plants, while other remain as surface residues on plant foliage: Applied prior to anticipated disease incidences, many fungicides can often prevent further disease development and promote recovery of the turf. The two basic types of fungicide are: contact and systemic. Contact fungicides are sprayed onto leaves and stems to prevent fungi from infecting the plants. Do to mowing contact fungicides will need to be applied frequently during period of disease activity. Systemic fungicides are absorbed by turf grass roots or other organs and are Tran located upwards. Once inside the plant they cannot be washed off the leaves or completely removed with a few mowing. Systemic thus provide much longer control of diseases.
